In divisive and angry times, a quiet introspective review of humankind’s spiritual position in the cosmos would seem to be in order. The Great Gossamer 2020 is a vehicle for such a review.
In the exhibition, local artists and participants from as far away as Norway will present their concepts, doubts, and hunches about the Spirit World in paintings, prints, photography, fiber, sculpture, poetry and computer-generated images.
The exhibition is scheduled for May 19 through June 26, 2020, in the Art Center Gallery of Art and Design on the campus of the University of Central Missouri—Warrensburg. A three-day opening celebration with live music, readings, dance, and a roundtable discussion will mark the show’s beginning. Participants whose works are judged exceptional will be recognized on May 21, and works by many will be included in exhibition publication.
